Description

The HTC DT‑302‑2 Digital Thermometer is a professional dual-input temperature instrument designed for users who require precision and versatility in demanding environments such as laboratories, food processing, HVAC systems, brewing, and industrial maintenance. With its ability to connect two K-type thermocouple probes simultaneously, the DT‑302‑2 enables temperature difference measurements (T1–T2) and comparative logging, making it invaluable for cross-checking and quality control applications.

Featuring a large 3½ digit LCD display with 15 mm-high digits, the DT‑302‑2 delivers clear and immediate readings. It automatically indicates negative polarity, handles over-range detection, and displays low battery warnings, ensuring measurement confidence and operator comfort. The display updates at approximately 2.5 samples per second, offering responsive performance even in dynamic conditions.

Designed for high accuracy, the thermometer supports a wide temperature range from –50 °C to 1300 °C (–58 °F to 1999 °F). Within –50 °C to 199.9 °C, resolution is 0.1 °C with accuracy of ±(0.3% reading + 1 °C). From –50 °C to 1000 °C, accuracy is maintained at ±(0.3% + 1 °C), and from 1000 °C to 1300 °C, the range accuracy shifts to ±(0.5% + 1 °C). Fahrenheit mode offers similar accuracy specifications: ±(0.3% + 2 °F) at low range and ±(0.5% + 2 °F) at high range. In dual‑input (T1–T2) differential mode, accuracy is ±(0.3% × temperature difference + 2 °C)

The thermometer supports all standard K-type thermocouples, including options like bead-type, immersion-type, surface, and penetration probes, allowing versatile measurement of liquids, semisolids, surfaces, and narrow cavities. Probe model TP01 (bead, ~150 mm) offers quick response, TP02/TP03 handle liquids or surfaces with extended ranges, all helping adapt the instrument to varied application needs.

Usability is enhanced via an intuitive Data Hold button to freeze readings for later review. Users can easily switch between measuring T1, T2, or T1–T2 modes, and toggle between °C and °F display formats. After powering on or switching probe type, a recommended warm-up period of approximately three minutes ensures sensor stabilization and accuracy.

Robust in build, the DT‑302‑2 features a drop-resistant holster-style body with ergonomically placed buttons for secure and comfortable handheld use. Powered by a standard 9 V battery, it offers up to 200 hours of life with alkaline cells (or 100 hours with carbon batteries). A low battery indicator and over-range warnings help maintain reliable operation even during extended tasks.

The compact yet rugged design measures approximately 130 × 95 × 28 mm and weighs around 240 g, making it easy to carry in toolkits or safety pockets while providing excellent protection in field or industrial conditions.

Safety features include over-voltage protection on the probe input (max 60 V DC or 24 V AC), automatic polarity recognition, and over-range detection. These combined safeguards help prevent damage from improper connections or misuse in real-world conditions.

Standard accessories include one TP01 bead-type thermocouple probe, user manual, and a 9 V battery—making the device ready for immediate use upon unboxing. Optional accessories such as other probe types and software support extend versatility for different measurement contexts.

The DT‑302‑2 is perfectly suited for professional temperature diagnostics in a range of settings such as:

  • Food and beverage production, ensuring accurate cooking, brewing, or pasteurization readings

  • Laboratory experiments, thermal profiling, and calibration work

  • HVAC and refrigeration testing, verifying temperature differentials across systems

  • Industrial machinery monitoring, surface temperature checks, or equipment diagnostics

  • Scientific and R&D applications, where precision in multi-point temperature measurement is critical

In summary, the HTC DT‑302‑2 Digital Thermometer combines professional-grade dual-input capability, wide temperature range up to 1300 °C, clear large-format display, responsive Data Hold function, and rugged ergonomic design. Its high stability, accuracy, and dual-mode operation (including T1–T2 differential measurement) make it ideal for quality control, maintenance, scientific testing, and industrial temperature diagnostics.
