Description

The HTC IRX‑63 Industrial Infrared Thermometer is a robust and highly accurate temperature measurement instrument engineered for trade professionals, technicians, and quality control applications. It combines non-contact infrared sensing with optional Type‑K contact thermocouple input, enabling fast, safe, and precise temperature measurement across a wide range of scenarios—from manufacturing and automotive maintenance to food processing, HVAC diagnostics, electrical inspection, and thermal profiling.

Equipped with dual-sensing modes, the IRX‑63 measures infrared (surface) temperature from –50 °C to 850 °C (–58 °F to 1472 °F) and contact temperature via Type‑K sensor from –50 °C to 1370 °C (–58 °F to 2498 °F). Infrared accuracy is ±4 °C from –50 °C to 0 °C and ±1.5 % + 2 °C for readings between 0 °C and 500 °C; above 500 °C the tolerance shifts to ±2.0 % + 2 °C. Contact mode provides ±1.5 % + 1 °C accuracy throughout its entire range. Resolution is finely graded at 0.1 ° for temperatures under 1000 °C and 1 ° above that, ensuring ideal precision for both delicate and high-heat measurements.

The IRX‑63 delivers reliable readings with a distance-to-spot ratio of 30:1, allowing safe measurements from a suitable distance. Its adjustable emissivity range (0.10 to 1.0) ensures accurate readings across various surface types, while the spectral response (8–14 μm) supports standard infrared detection. A built-in laser pointer and backlit LCD display improve targeting accuracy and readability, even in dimly lit environments.

Usability features include °C/°F unit selection, automatic data hold, MAX/MIN/DIF/AVG record, trigger lock mode, and high/low alarm thresholds, creating a multifunction instrument fit for inspection tasks. It boasts a datalogging function capable of storing up to 12 measurement points for later retrieval, simplifying trend analysis in inspection routines. The display offers over-range indication (“LO” or “HI”), polarity indicators (with “‑” for negative readings), and alert icons for laser, backlight, emissivity mode, and battery status.

Designed for high productivity, the IRX‑63 features a fast response time under 250 ms, enabling near-instantaneous readings. It shuts off automatically after 35 seconds of inactivity to conserve power and is powered by a 9V battery, offering long runtime in the field. The thermometer is lightweight at approximately 275 g and measures about 192 × 95 × 83 mm, making it ergonomic for handheld use and easy to transport.

Built with safety and versatility in mind, the IRX‑63 is compliant with EMC standards, features low-power laser output conforming to Class 2 limits, and includes built‑in over-voltage protection on the probe terminal to prevent misuse. It operates reliably in ambient temperature conditions between 0 °C and 50 °C, with acceptable humidity tolerance up to 95% RH.

Standard accessories packaged with the unit include a soft carrying case, Type‑K thermocouple probe, metal hook, user manual, and battery. The device comes in standard bulk packaging of 40 units per carton—ideal for organizations, service teams, or training centers.

Ideal use cases for the HTC IRX‑63 include thermal measurement of rotating machinery, hot spots in electrical panels, cooking surface profiling in food service, plastics processing inspection, HVAC duct surface evaluation, and preventive maintenance of industrial equipment. With its fast, accurate, and safe non-contact operation, supplemented by contact probe support, this thermometer reduces measurement risk while improving operational efficiency.

In summary, the HTC IRX‑63 Infrared Thermometer delivers the best of both worlds: infrared and contact temperature measurement in a single rugged, ergonomic device. Featuring wide measurement ranges, high accuracy, adjustable emissivity, datalogging, high/low alarms, and a compact form factor, it is an indispensable tool for professionals in food technology, manufacturing, engineering, HVAC maintenance, and industrial safety.
